Bottom of Form

Children's Theatre

Timothy has been performer & director with the Storybook Theatre Company for the last five seasons. Beginning its 25th season, Storybook Theatre is the oldest children's theatre company in Central Florida. As the educational arm of the Sands Theater Center in DeLand, they incorporate youth theater, school tours, summer drama camps, and theater education for all ages. Storybook educators design and conduct creative drama projects to meet specific needs such as oral language development, abuse recognition programs, and the development of social skill, - often in partnership with area schools, community resource agencies, and other arts organizations.

Storybook Theatre is the oldest children's theatre company in Central Florida - they are the educational arm of the Sands Theater Center in DeLand. The 2004-2005 season marked his 14th production with the aclaimed theatre company and his roles include "Uncle Ralph: and "Pablo Piccasso" in Noonie's Masterpiece in Purple, "Actor 1" in Aesop’s Fables (Tour Feb – May 2005), Composer & "Henri" / "Tweedle-Dum" in The Frog Prince (Tour Sept 2004 – May 2005), Director / Music Director of Winnie The Pooh, the Musical Comedy (June 2004), "Devon” in Devon’s Hurt (Tour Feb – Apr. 2004), “Demon” & Foley Musician in Ama and the White Crane (October 2003), “The Magical Fish” in The Fisherman & His Wife (Tour Sept – Nov. 2003), The Prince, “Steve” in The Princess and the Pea (Tour Feb – Apr. 2003), Musical Director of The Secret Garden, musical (December 2002), “Baltus Van Tassell” in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (October 2001), Musical Director of Guys & Dolls, Jr. (June 2001), “Feste” in Twelfth Night (Tour April 2001) and "Rumplestiltskin" in Rumplestiltskin (Tour Feb – Apr. 2001)

Pop Shop, Inc. of Longwood, Florida

Timothy has begun a relationship as a coach, teacher, and artistic director for this training facility. Orlando's premier one stop shopping for music industry training.  From camps to professional performance ensembles, they train young artists in every aspect of their career from singing, dancing, and performance techniques to makeup, image consultation and press kits.  The Pop Shop is a school that teaches music and entertainment industry skills to children, teens and adults.   The studio in Longwood provides training, development and promotion in all areas of study.  Currently they house a black box theater, dance room, music room and recording studio. "We believe in providing our students with affordable classes and real-life performing opportunities to sharpen skills that can later be developed and booked into actual jobs.  Our teachers are serious professionals with major credits that are all still working in their chosen careers." says Doug Bailey.

Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble 2nd Season

Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble names Timothy, Music Director. "...our personal Superman.  He stepped in a day before we opened & knocked the show out without missing a beat. And as if coming in at the last minute and playing every note flawlessly were not enough, Timothy possesses the uncanny ability to feel the actor’s style of singing and marry his playing to the actor to enhance the song as a whole. In a nutshell, Timothy is incredibly talented, great fun to work with, and tops it all off with a respectable professionalism", says Brandon Roberts, GTE Managing Director. Ghostlight Theatre was formed in November of 2004 by Orlando actors Karla Sue Schultz, Meggin Weaver, and Brandon Roberts.  Perhaps by happenstance, the three of us found ourselves in the right place, at the right time, with the right people.  So, then we needed a name...  A ghostlight is a standing lamp, typically left in the center of the stage once a theatre has closed at the end of the day.  It provides the next person in the theatre a means of seeing their way in the darkness.  This symbol of optimism and encouragement was one that we all feel represents what theatre is to us, and what we hope to bring to everyone with whom we cross paths, onstage and off.

Storybook Theatre Commissions Play

With colleague and friend Kylie Koscoe, Timothy has been commissioned to write a play based on the stories of Edgar Allen Poe. "The realities of Poe himself are as mysterious as the stories he wrote for his readers. I have long been intrigued by this great American writer and look forward to creating a educational and entertaining portrayal of Edgar Allen Poe", says Timothy D. Turner, playwright. The play will blur the lines between Poe's reality and the stories he related. The characters of the stories will reveal themselves one by one as actually people in Poe's life. The play will be one of three presented on tour for students for the 2005-2006 Storybook Repertoire Theatre Season. The Storybook Theatre Company has a proven reputation of fine theatrical and educational presentations for schools throughout Volusia, Lake & Seminole counties. This upcoming season marks the first year of a repertoire structure. Schools will have the opportunity to book any of the three productions throughout the entire school year. The three tour productions include, Edgar Allen Poe, The Magical Pinata, a bi-lingual musical and Storywagon: African Tales.

Jazz for Peace Names Coordinator

Jazz for Peace names Timothy a Central Florida Event Coordinator. In addition to producing fine entertainment, the organization seeks to promote peace not only through words, but true and real action. Della Ratta, Jazz for Peace Founder, believes "Americans have failed to acknowledge jazz as our greatest contribution to the world, not just culturally, but universally." And he sees jazz as the perfect vehicle for delivering a new attitude for America. "If you're going to go through life taking the things that fill your soul and throw them to the side and take monetary, capitalistic things that victimize others and ultimately don't fill your soul, then you're going to lead to destructive behavior as a species. There's humanitarian issues involved here, and when we fill our souls up with creativity, artistry and intelligence, things of that nature, we have a better shot at avoiding the behavior that leads to destruction. By not acknowledging jazz as American's leading contribution to the world," Della Ratta says, "we are sending mixed messages to the world and to ourselves. It's been obvious to me that jazz is a music that brings enlightenment to our species. We need to raise our level of consciousness and then we can see past the need for violence and see that there's so much we can do together to make our existence greater. We have so much to offer each other ...when we fill our souls up with creativity, artistry and intelligence, things of that nature, we have a better chance at avoiding the behavior that leads to destruction."
